More of Antonia Sautter

I just cant get enough, I really cant. I've been non stop googling her since my last entry. Turns out she has a facebook page, I found her offical website (in italian) & SHE MAKES WEDDING DRESSES TOO!

Not even kidding you I may like her as much as I like Pnina Tornai
I found pictures of some beautiful bridal wear & also of her shop, so I created a slide show to share

Wedding dress & veil by Antonia Sautter

Daughter of a Venetian mother & German father, Antonia has always lived in Venice.
Antonia began sewing at a young age. Since she was a young girl she started drawing her own costumes, attaching pearls, sewing fabrics and was blessed to be helped by an encouraging mother.

"One day I just thought I wanted to create something for me, on my own, and I opened a small shop where I would display my creations. And there you go: from then on, things started to happen. I believe you make your fortune on your own, you have to create the right circumstances to help your dreams come true" says Antonia Sautter.

Carnival of Venice - Atelier Antonia Sautter

                                                               Antonia Sautter (2001)

Thanks to my friend Natalia Tjiang I have discovered what may be my new favorite costume designer.
In 2013 she went on a trip to Italy & they made a stop in Venice. Just recently I was going through the many photo's of her trip on Facebook and I found one that was a picture of pretty dresses in a shop window and I just had to Google it.

Up until then I did not know that the Carnival of Venice even existed and in the caption on her photo it mentioned "carnival costumes" So I started with the search word "Carnival costumes Venice" and found a whole bunch of wonderfulness.
Even though what I found I liked I was determined to find the exact designer of the costumes in the picture. I particularly liked the pink costume (Pink is my favorite color) so I searched for "Venice carnival costume designers" and found Antonia Sautter (as well as Stefano Nicolao) and turns out it was Antoina's shop in this picture:

More than anything I like making historical costumes. So when I find someone that makes similar costumes I get very happy. Though I am pretty much fangirling over this right now, I make otherwise historically accurate costumes because..well I'm a perfectionist, but Antonia Sautter makes them for the glamour of the Carnival of Venice.

Located in 3 boutiques in the Piazza San Marco (St. Marks square, Venice, Italy) she sells her fashion creations, she is well known for being the creator and organizer of  Il Ballo Del Doge the costume ball held each year during the Carnival of Venice.
Her shop contains over 2000 of her creations, and also books appointments and makes custom designs.
The pictures shown in the slideshow below are but of few of her gorgeous creations.

Pnina Tornai

I would like to introduce my favorite wedding dress designer: Pnina Tornai.
Exclusive to Kleinfeild Bridal her dresses are perfect for the princess kind of bride. Lots of bling and ballgowns this is my kryptonite.

Every week I watch Say Yes To The Dress on TLC, I am not even kidding you about how excited I get every time there's a Pnina Tornai gown shown, but there has always been one gown in particular that I've always loved and it's the 2010 finale gown. Such as when this episode aired:

A huge ballgown with a ruffled skirt & the ruffles take on a flower like shape and I litterally just love everything about this gown & have ever since the moment I seen it, but there's just one problem: it's $25,000. So basically it's a dress I can only dream of. I can't help but love it none the less.
It's not just popular with me either Kleinfeild women's featured this dress in their article about what type of wedding dress Kate Middleton would wear in 2011 (http://www.kleinfeldwomens.com/blog.cfm?postid=1148&posttitle=Princess-Diaries-) . I just love this dress so much I thought I would share it with the world :)

Trendy 2014

Spring is in the air! I'm so excited, I am emerging out of my winter hibernation like a butterfly out of a cocoon. To start the season off here is a perfect floral dress, that I would definitely create if I had the material!
